Trieste, 1 febbraio 2021 – Nell’ottica di perseguire ulteriori opportunità di sviluppo del business e al fine di massimizzare le sinergie tra i settori newbuilding e after sales del segmento cruise, la Direzione services di Fincantieri è confluita nella Divisione navi mercantili, che si presenta così come interfaccia unica verso le società armatrici.
Il potenziamento delle attività avverrà anche attraverso la supervisione e il coordinamento di Fincantieri Services Usa, la controllata del Gruppo con sede a Miami, fulcro di tutte le attività di servizi e post vendita sulle navi da crociera negli Stati Uniti. La Direzione sarà guidata da Daniele Fanara, coadiuvato da Andrew Toso in qualità di deputy, che rispondono a Luigi Matarazzo, direttore generale della Divisione navi mercantili.
Dall’operazione è atteso un beneficio anche per le altre realtà di Fincantieri, nello specifico per i poli dell’arredamento e dei sistemi elettrici e meccanici, con prodotti e servizi ulteriormente valorizzati presso un ventaglio più ampio di operatori.
In particolare, dalla riorganizzazione trarranno vantaggio le attività per il refurbishment delle cabine, sale pubbliche e aree catering, l’installazione e la sostituzione di stabilizzatori e thruster più avanzati, l’introduzione di nuovi impianti di propulsione e di energia in ottica saving e di abbattimento delle emissioni, l’ammodernamento di impianti di condizionamento, anche abbinati a sistemi di sanificazione dell’aria.
L’operazione consentirà anche di sviluppare ulteriori sinergie con il newbuilding dei mega yacht per incrementare la quota di mercato nel refitting di questo comparto.

Fincantieri strenghthens its Merchant Ships Division – Trieste, February 1, 2021. In the light of pursuing further business opportunities and optimizing the synergies between the newbuilding and after sales sectors in the cruise segment, Fincantieri has included the Services Division within its Merchant Ships Division, thus representing a unique point of reference for the ship owners.
The enhanced activities will also comprise the supervision and coordination of Fincantieri Services USA, the Group’s subsidiary headquartered in Miami, representing the heart of all the Group’s service and after-sales activities on cruise ships in the United States. Daniele Fanara will be at the head of the business unit, assisted by Andrew Toso as deputy, reporting directly to Luigi Matarazzo, General Manager of Fincantieri Merchant Ships Division.
The operation will also result in producing a widespread benefit for the other Fincantieri companies, notably for the furniture and the electrical and mechanical systems hubs, with further enhanced products and services by a wider range of operators. Specifically, the most involved activities by the reorganization will be the refurbishment of cabins, public spaces and catering areas, the installation and replacement of state-of-the-art stabilizers and thrusters, the introduction of new propulsion and energy systems in terms of energy saving and emission reduction, the modernization of air conditioning systems also combined with air sanitization systems.
The process will also allow to develop further synergies with the newbuilding of mega-yachts to increase the market share in the refitting of these units.
