Varata l’ultima maxi-campata da cento metri che ha portato il nuovo ponte di Genova a scavalcare la ferrovia.
In poco più di un mese l’infrastruttura progettata da Renzo Piano – la cui costruzione di tutto l’impalcato in acciaio, con lo sviluppo delle sue componenti tecnologiche, è stata affidata a Fincantieri Infrastructure e alle società del gruppo Fincantieri – ha raggiunto circa 800 metri di lunghezza delle campate, quasi l’80% dell’intera struttura, per 6.000 tonnellate d’acciaio lavorato e modellato negli stabilimenti del gruppo Fincantieri.
Le operazioni per portare quest’ultima imponente campata del peso di 1.800 tonnellate a oltre 40 metri di altezza sono iniziate sabato e, fra attività propedeutiche e sollevamento vero e proprio, hanno richiesto circa 48 ore e il lavoro di una squadra di quasi cinquanta persone.
Così come la precedente maxi-campata, anche questa, per mole e posizione, ha richiesto il coordinamento di attività complesse, che sono state realizzate dai tecnici e dai saldatori dell’azienda del Gruppo, che hanno adottato ulteriori misure di sicurezza per far fronte alla grave emergenza sanitaria che condiziona il Paese.
Genova è una città importante per Fincantieri, leader mondiale nella navalmeccanica e prima azienda della città, infatti il Gruppo è attualmente impegnato nella realizzazione del nuovo ponte in sostituzione del segmento del viadotto Morandi crollato il 14 agosto 2018, nel duplice ruolo di socio e affidatario per un valore pari al 70% dell’intera commessa.

Una volta ancora dobbiamo ringraziare tutti i nostri tecnici e operai che con il loro saper fare e con spirito di abnegazione hanno permesso al cantiere di restare operativo, rispettando gli obiettivi fissati, in un contesto sfidante per la loro salute, che continueremo a tutelare in ogni modo e ad ogni costo, perché prioritaria e imprescindibile».

In just over a month the infrastructure, designed by Renzo Piano – for which Fincantieri Infrastructure and the Fincantieri group companies were entrusted the construction of the entire steel deck, with the development of its technological components – reached about 800 metres in span length, almost 80% of the entire structure, for 6,000 tonnes of steel, processed and finished in the Fincantieri Group plants.
The operations to bring this last 1,800-tonne imposing span to a height of over 40 meters started on Saturday and, taking into account preparatory activities and the actual raising, took about 48 hours and the work of a team of almost 50 people.
Their commitment is symbolized in the photo attached, entitled: “Noi al lavoro per Genova e per l’Italia” (We are at work for Genoa and for Italy), followed by the hashtag #VOIRESTATEACASA (#YOUSTAYATHOME).
As for the previous maxi-span, this one too, due to its size and position, required the coordination of complex activities, which were carried out by Fincantieri Infrastructure’s technicians and welders, who also adopted additional safety measures to deal with the serious health emergency affecting the country, in line with the specific actions implemented by Fincantieri in relation to the Covid-19 emergency: ad hoc supplementary health insurance for its entire workforce, and closure of its plants, with the commitment to resume activities only when it will be possible to guarantee the full safety of staff.
As usual, a sober, responsible approach, based on doing rather than saying.
The Group, world leader in maritime engineering and the first company in the city, is therefore keeping up with its efforts to build the new Genoa Bridge in the dual role of partner and contractor for 70% of the entire order.
